With the demand for cybersecurity experts growing at 12 times the overall job market*, there has never been a better time to become certified.
The new Cisco Cybersecurity Specialist certification provides the essential skills for network security analysts who specialize in proactive network security threat detection and mitigation.
Cisco and Pearson VUE are offering opportunities to take the new Securing Cisco Networks with Threat Detection and Analysis (SCYBER) exam 600-199.

Redesigned Security Certification Exams and Training Offerings

With market transitions such as cloud, mobility, and the Internet of Things removing borders and creating an expanded surface of attack, and an increase in the prevalence, impact, and cost of network intrusions, there is a growing demand by employers for network security professionals with a thorough understanding of a holistic, end-to-end network security posture.
[email protected] has redesigned existing offerings and introduced new offerings to address this critical skills deficit, providing network security engineers, analysts, and product specialists with development opportunities to ensure on-the-job readiness for current and future demand.
This effort includes the following:
  • Launch of the redesigned CCNP Security certification program
  • Launch of the new Cisco Cybersecurity Specialist certification
  • Announcement of the retirement of the existing Cisco Security Specialist certifications
  • New and updated product training courses
CCNP Security Certification Program Redesign

The redesign of the CCNP Security certification reflects the skills and responsibilities required of today's network security engineers, who increasingly require a holistic end-to-end understanding of a complete security posture.
The new training courses and labs that are being provided as part of the redesigned certification will utilize a common topology and have been created to complement one another, allowing engineers to grow their skills in harmony with their careers as they progress through the certification.
The following new training courses and exams are available for registration worldwide:
Course Name Exam Number Implementing Cisco Edge Network Security Solutions (SENSS) 300-206 SENSS Implementing Cisco Threat Control Solutions (SITCS) 300-207 SITCS Implementing Cisco Secure Access Solutions (SISAS) 300-208 SISAS Implementing Cisco Secure Mobility Solutions (SIMOS) 300-209 SIMOS
Candidates in the process of attaining their CCNP Security certification have the option of completing their remaining exams before the last date to test of April 21, 2014 or of migrating to the new exams, with credit applied for existing exams passed.

No problem at all. If you pass anyone of these CCNP Security exams (642-618, 642-637, 642-627 and 642-648) before 21th of April 2014, then you go for that/those remains after 21th of April 2014 (300-208, 300-206, 300-207and 300-209) and you pass it/them then you will be CCNP Security certified. So, there is no problem if you pass for example Secure (642-637) and Firewall (642-618) exams before 21th of April 2014 and then pass SIMOS (300-209) and SITCS (300-207) after 21th of April 2014, you will be CCNP Security certified.

That's great that Cisco is offering this New Certification, but I would like to see Cisco put out a book instead of links to white papers as study material.
