Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone had taken this course prior to the certification exam for 1z0-054 ?
There are apparently 2 ways, either you are OCP (which i am not, studying for OCA at the moment), or take the official course.
Could anyone share some thought on this course ?
Did you find it usefull ? I've been active for 6 years in oracle (programming / datawarehousing / small dba tasks). Would I learn a lot of new techniques or will only 20% of the course be usefull ?

Thanks for any insights you can provide.  :)

I can confirm that this is very usefull and there is demand for performance tuning experts. And you do not need to worry about passing the exam.
Just go for the mandatory training, and do your excercises well.
The material that oracle provides when you appear for the training are excellent, if you go through them and do all the excercises, you would not need stupid dumps.

Nobody should fail 1z0-053 or 1z0-054, because both of them have a training mandatory. Just go for the relevant one and you should pass.

I'll take the course next week then of course tell my experiences afterwards.

As for the previous answerer: I do not know whether 1z0-053 is similar somewhat to 1z0-043, in this case I do not agree with You.
I have more than ten years of experience with Oracle, also with production systems, however the exam had quite a few questions that were anything but
playing with English grammar, finding which answer had error in it, but not from the professional point of view but grammar and syntax (English, not Oracle!!!!).
In case I did not see any preparation material before I would be so nervous about this that I am sure I could not take the exam, no matter my
real world experiences....

So My opinion is, everyone should learn a lot for an exam, and then try at least one prep material. That can save a lot of trouble.
