Here are the steps I usually follow:

1. Between  AS65002 and AS 65005 ( Prefix list ),
    a. In router R18 redistributing BGP as type 1 in OSPF
    b. In router R18 redistributing OSPF type 2 and internal in BGP

2. Between AS65001 and AS65002
    a. In router R15 and R16 ,redistribute BGP as type 1 in OSPF
    b. In router R15 and R16, redistribute  OSPF type 2 and internal in BGP
    c. If allowas-in is configured use SOO ( no need for AS override)

3.  Between AS65001 and AS65002
Use route tag and distribution list

4. Between AS65005 and AS65006 use route-map with prefix-list to allow and deny 172.0.0.0 routes to be redistributed in bgp and eigrp at R55 and R56.  For this last solution somebody used route-tag solution also..

This is what I remember of, if you have better summarization please update...

For me - bgp soo defensively.

No need for any other manipulation.
