Hi all,

I encountered the question where it is asked that router X must be BDR on all its interfaces. Now I noticed there are answers that implies configuring priority 254 would solve that problem. I don't think that is correct? On interfaces that are broadcast network type, but p2p links, a priority of 254 would make the router DR? I think the routers connected to router X should have a priority configured higher than 1, on all interfaces where it is connected to router X?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks.

Sounds like J&J. R2 is the one that is the BDR in this scenario. Configure all the links on R2 facing the other routes with a priority of 254. Configure the routers links facing R2 with a priority of 255. This will achieve what is being asked.

Hehe, great, I obviously missed the configuration part of the neighboring routers. Thanks.
