k seems the one compiled with older python version is conflicting with the one compiled with 2.6. Try removing Qt,sip and pyqt using package manager. Search and remove. Or Use this command in terminal yum remove packagename

Then re-do the steps starting from qt4 installation.
Remember:Compile all the configure.py using python2.6
python2.6 configure.py

problem:
[[email protected] ~]$ sudo ~/GNS3-0.7.4-src/gns3
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/home/oliver/GNS3-0.7.4-src/gns3", line 41, in ?
raise RuntimeError, "Need Python 2.6 or higher"
RuntimeError: Need Python 2.6 or higher

solution :
[[email protected] ~]$ sudo python2.6 ~/GNS3-0.7.4-src/gns3

Answer: You must install python 2.6 and add /usr/local/lib to PATH of both root/user in user/.bashrc and root/.bashrc

problem:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
gns3: cannot connect to X server :0.0

solution:
[[email protected] ~]$ xhost +
access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
....this isnt ideal
Answer:
[[email protected]] xhost local:
non-network local connections being added to access control list
....ideal.

There are some issues regarding python 2.6 installation on Centos. I'll be updating this topic in a week or so with working links and correct steps. So all centos users have wait until then.

Hi,

I am having issues while installing QT on centos 6.4.

After the ./configure and I can not run the "gmake" or "make" command.

It is giving me an error.

How to resolve it?

Hello Galvin

I am new to linux but pretty interested in installing GNS3 on it.

I followed all the steps said by you. I am using Centos 6.4 and 64 bit.

After creating the GNS3 Shortcut, when I double click it ...nothing happens.

and when I run

[[email protected] Dynamips]# python /opt/GNS3/gns3
python: can't open file '/opt/GNS3/gns3': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

Please help me
