Create deployment template for software update -Step 4

This guide will explain about the step to create deployment template which consist of critical software update for Windows Server 2008.

 

1. Go to Software Update,Right click deployment template and select deployment template

2.Deployment Template wizard is open. Enter the name of the deployment template : All critical Windows Server 2008 Patches

3.Select the Win2k8 Test Group collection which you have created in earlier guide.

4.Set the Display/Time settings to suppress display notification on clients, client local time for deployment schedules and duration of 1 day

5.For Restart Setttings set them accordingly

6. Leave Event Generation as it is unless you are using Operations Manager servers and want the reporting

7.For download Settings, make sure to select download in both choices as display in below figure

8.Leave SMS 2003 blank and click next

9.Review the summary and click Next to confirm

10.Deployment template called "All Critical Windows Server 2008 Patches is created and listed in Deployment template.
