SSD for CCIE Laptop

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody

I have a very simple Laptop and I'm trying to make the most out of it.I upgraded the RAM to 4Gb and I was thinking of getting an SSD.

How much of a performance bottleneck is the harddisk as far as gns3/IOU is concerned?

Will getting an SSD give a significant benefit in this area?

an 8GB with i5/i7 and a proper tuning of idlepc would be enough for your ccie on R&S track...GNS3 is running fine with these specs but you can utilized more

under linux but i haven't tried it.

If its possible to upgrade to 8GB of RAM I would do that for sure.

Plus an SSD will generally make Windows more responsive overall and all your applications load faster.

Once you have SSD's you can't go back.
