I'm gonna take 1Y1-400,

I have no idea what to expect, but here is some info:

"The 400 beta is a 102-item exam written in English. IT consists of two

parts. Part One contains traditional items (e.g., multiple-choice, multiple-response). Part Two contains traditional items decision tree items.

1.2 Time Limit The 400 beta exam has a time limit of 240 minutes."

So it looks like our beloved trees are back with a vengeance.

"For a limited time, existing CCIAs who pass this exam will be awarded the new Citrix Certified Expert (CCE) for Apps and Desktops certification."

So it looks like CCIA has been superseded...I am not sure how to read that.

I will prepare with:

These exams are tough. Far longer than the normal exams. Its not about passing but more commenting on the questions.

I'm playing with XD7 now, but its a lot different to XA6.5

@webjunk.. probably you meant XD5.6... XD7 is not so different than XD5.6.. I think Citrix did some good changes in their product...

I was told XD is the new XA. Also that XA is going to disappear. There are a lot of changes between publishing an app in XA vs XD7.

Actually XA and XD are merging in XD7.. it was called Project Excalibur.. and yes.. there's diff between publishing an app in XA and installing/publishing an app inside a desktop/server provided by XD...

Sure. Citrix has never said you can't do any exam you choose. But you wont be certified unless you complete all the requirements. In this case you need to do the 200 and 300 course to be certified at the 400 level.

But I think the registration has now closed. You will have to wait for the full exam and pay the required fee.

Not much Windows 2012 questions, there are some however related to SQL server. If you look at the study guides for each exam you will see what type of SQL questions you will get.

I think I passed on 2 of them, one of them I got a bit short of time, they were around 130 - 170 questions on each of the exams, but you had plenty of time around 300 min I belived It was.

I am CCEE and CCA for XD, XA, XS and NS.

Thanks msandbu. I need to get more hardware so I can spin up more servers and play with some of the more advanced topics (netscaler, redundancy etc).

HI msandbu

for the 1y1-400, which topics do you think we shall invest more time at?

The resources listed at the Beta Prep Guide are pretty slim...

Any ctx article, eDoc, blog that you can list that helped you prepare for the exam?

thanks
