CISCO vIOS/vIOS-L2/vNX-OS from VIRL, for vmware/gns3/qemu

Recommended Posts

Have tried qinq on esxi, and switches give an error. Just replaced vios l2 with arista vEOS switches. Now on csrv1000 connected to arista,i can double tag my frames on subinterfaces, that on arista are tagged with third tag and QinQ works fine(arista vEOS switches have cisco like cli)

Has anyone successfully imported vEOS into VIRL?

If so any instructions?

I tried importing it but on the VNC console I am stuck at "Booting from Hard Disk"

UNL looks quite promising, no doubt, but it would be very useful to integrate it into VIRL. It would make a perfect replacement for IOSv-l2.

VIRL is based on openstack and it should be doable to import it.

I gave it a shot, but trouble is that vEOS,apart from the vmdk which holds the OS needs an ISO to boot from. I imported the ISO through glance but I cannot succeed in reverse engineering the arguments needed to successfully boot vEOS through nova.

Are there any openstack experts here? Do you think its worth a shot?

Hi, am i the only one that strugglign to import the .vmdk file of vNX-OS onto my Citrik Xen? Tried on VM-Fusion also no luck. It keep saying Ancient Bootloader, kernel alive, kernel really alive. Tried to add serial port, there was no option to do that.
