Palo Alto PanOS Firmware 6.0.0 PA2000

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm looking for the 6.0.0 base firmware image for a PA-2000 (PA-2020 / PA2050) series firewall.

The file name is "PanOS_2000-6.0.0"

I need the 6.0.0 base image for the 2000 series as a stepping stone to get to 6.1.0

Thanks for your help

Hi MrSquirrel,

Were you ever able to find this? I've been looking for it too. I'll keep looking - if I find it, I'll let you know.

Thanks!

I now have up to v7.1.2 for the 2000 series - can you recommend somewhere to share the images?

It is about 1gb total for the three 7.1.x images i have.

it gives you free 50 GB space and then upload the files and share the download link here. After I download it I can use Bitsync and share it over here as I have Gigabit Internet which is 1Gbps down and 50 Mbps up and It will be fast for everyone to download. Thanks in advance and appreciate it. Cheers

Here you go, this will get you to v7.1.2.

Load the base image first, v7.0.1 and then the point release v7.1.2

Normally the base images are named x.0.0 but with 7 the base image is 7.0.1.

You need the base image installed to then load the point release.

Let me know how you get on, I have a collection of images but this is the latest i have for the 2000 series.

You can upgrade the 2000 series to 2gb of RAM which helps speed things up a little. They use very specific RAM, took me ages to find the right geometry/spec - i will dig the details out if it helps. The 2000 series are dreadfully slow, commits are like watching paint dry - i only use mine in the lab for training so can just about tolerate it!

Oh and it's worth pulling the hard drive and putting in an SSD. The current generation boxes all use SSD's, older ones like the 2000 used mechanical hard drives. The 2000 needs every bit of help it can get, booting and upgrading takes a very long time so be patient and monitor the console for progress.

Hi MrSquirrel,

Thank you so much for sharing this with the community and the advice that you have shared. I get error as to install 7.1.2 as to install 7.1.2 it needs 7.1.0 base file first. The 2 link that you have provided are for 7.0.1 and 7.1.2 Do you have the PanOS_2000-7.1.0 file? Also Do you have Dynamic Updates Files by any chance? If you do, will you be able to share this with us as well. Thanks in advance.
