FirePOWER Management Center Collection

Recommended Posts

BASE, MALWARE, THREAT and URLFilter are the types to add. It's not 100% clear in the directions as it was listed on the preceding line to the SQL query...

Also ... I really hope that the next release gets here soon so that I can add Cisco RA VPN soon.... I really like everything else about this next gen appliance.

Thanks very much. It's clearer.

Actually no. Those licenses are enabled when you start the evaluation. The only types of licenses which you need to add right now are the VPN licenses. They are listed in the proceeding line because it is how you differentiate a FTD device from a FMC device in the licensing database.

When I add a HW device (eg: ASA5506-X), it says my device is unlicensed (despite the fact that if i use the firepower managed by ASDM, it is officially licensed).

How can i licence this device ?

Enable evaluation mode in System->Licenses in the FMC. If that isnt available to you then fvck if I know because I only have a Firepower Threat Defense Virtual and a ASA 5510 in my lab.

After enabling Evaluation mode..

mysql> select * from smart_licenses;

Empty set (0.00 sec)

Why is that..? maybe Cisco changed method of Evaluation License delivery?

Anyone seen this strange behavior in Firepower Management Center?...

You need to have devices added to your FMC, if there aren't any FTD devices registered to the FMC then there wont be any evaluation licenses

Read the manual on deploying a device, this is covered there.

The registration key is something that you specify in shell of the ASA.

GoldenTulip, I can't respond to private messages because of my post count so i'll post it here. Unfortunately cracking the classic licenses for NGIPSv would be far more involved than what I did with the evaluation crack. It uses a compiled code rather than just perl scripts which makes figuring out what it is doing far more difficult, and I generally avoid dealing with assembly code as much as I can. As I have no use for NGIPSv I dont plan on sinking a ton of time in to cracking it. Sorry.
