I'm realizing that some answers are not right.

Someone may can help/double check my consideration?. For example:

I think A+D in the same answer have no sense...


Some fact:

1) We are in Central-Authentication-Down/Switch-Local: A WLAN that requires central authentication rejects new users.

Existing authenticated users continue to be switched locally until session time-out if configured. The WLAN continues to beacon and respond to probes until there are no more existing users associated to the WLAN. This state occurs as a result of the AP going into standalone mode

2) The RADIUS user attributes used for the VLAN ID assignment are:

IETF 64 (Tunnel Type) - Set this to VLAN.

IETF 65 (Tunnel Medium Type) - Set this to 802.

IETF 81 (Tunnel Private Group ID) - Set this to VLAN ID.

So in the TAG for the VLAN is 15

3) In FlexConnect Standalone "Clients that are authenticated on locally switched WLANs using IEEE 802.1X authentication will remain connected until they roam or their session times out, that is, unless the AP is provided with a way to reauthenticate the client."

4) In the FlexConnect AAA VLAN Override if the VLAN ID does not exist, default VLAN is used, unless "VLAN Based Central Switching" enabled --> Our case is anable.

5) When the FlexConnect access point rejoins (from standalone status) the controller (or a standby controller), all clients are disconnected and are authenticated again --> C for sure


So if the client has authenticated before the down of the WAN, is joined in VLAN 15 (otherwise it could not be authenticated) and its on standalone mode, the client will be placed in VLAN 15 --> A

If return AP is in connected mode, the client will be placed in VLAN 15 --> G

good post there. As I am also preparing for the exam I found these mistakes in the questions too.

I agree with your answers and am confused about Q25 also.



Q98 has to bee Flexconnect Groups. Reading the CCKM Documentation I found this:

CCKM FlexConnect – Works across APs in the same FlexConnect group.

So the APs only can do proper Roaming using CCKM when they are in the same Flex Group.


Q99 - agree!


Q118 - still reviewing. There can be a solution using ACS. But AP Groups would make more sense. Define different Interfaces and map these via AP Groups to the specific building. That´s how I would implement it. Not sure if this is the right approach they want to see here.


Also I found another question (Q78) regarding the update process for Flex APs.

I guess the answers there are:

- only one AP downloaded the upgrade image over the WAN Link

- A slave AP eventually downloads the image from the WLC, if the master AP is unavailable

Answer should be B, as per guide


  • A FlexConnect group can have one master AP per AP model. If a master AP is not selected manually, the AP that has the least MAC address value is automatically chosen as the master AP for that model.
