  7. Hi, I'm having concerns in the answers provided in this forum for IPv6-HSRP Diagnosis question. According to the Question my understanding is as follows. CE1 configured with - High hsrp priority - Low ipv6 nd router-preference CE2 configured with - Default hsrp priority - High ipv6 nd router-prefernce with this config, CE1 becomes Active in hsrp group. End hosts receives the prefix from either CE. Default router points to the link local address of the standby group. With this set up end hosts can reach beyond the PEs. Can someone help me here?? I think I'm missing something....

  9. There are some new uRPF tickets; we want to find the solution for them: Let's discuss them, Answers are just my opinion, any correction will be welcome. All options require drag and drop of 8 values and respond the question: What is the most likely cause of the problem? Possible answers uRPF Strict Mode with load-balance per destination uRPF Loose Mode with load-balance per packet uRPF Strict Mode with load-balance per packet uRPF Loose Mode with load-balance per destination Option 1: uRPF loose mode configured on R1 both interfaces uRPF is not configured on R2 and R3 Answer: uRPF Loose Mode with load-balance per destination Drag and Drop: Don't know; need to find out. Option 2 uRPF strict mode configured on R2 interface uRPF is not configured on R1 uRPF is not configured on R3 Answer: uRPF Strict Mode with load-balance per destination Drag and Drop: R1 will check input ACL and Flow options R1 will check routing table R1 will realize it is having only single exit R1 will translate it to 11.11.11.11 and forward it to e0/1 towards R2 R2 will recieve the packet on interface e0/1 R2 will run RPF and it will fail because the returing path is through R3 R2 will drop the packet Option 3 uRPF strict mode configured on R3 interface uRPF is not configured on R1 uRPF is not configured on R2 Answer: uRPF Strict Mode with load-balance per destination Drag and Drop: R1 will check input ACL and Flow options R1 will check routing table R1 will realize it is having only single exit R1 will translate it to 11.11.11.11 and forward it to e0/2 towards R3 R3 will recieve the packet on interface e0/1 R3 2ill run RPF and it will fail because the returing path is through R2 R3 will drop the packet Option 4 uRPF strict mode configured on R2 interface uRPF strict mode configured on R3 interface uRPF is not configured on R1 Answer: uRPF Strict Mode with load-balance per destination Drag and Drop: Don't know; need to find out. 10. Hello Every1, Very happy to inform you all that I have passed R&S Lab last week, This forum is really awesome so are the people who are always ready to help. I am sharing details here: TS Section: I was able to complete this within 2.30 hours with proper checks and fail over tests. Diag Section: I feel that i did all 3 three correct. Config: very straight forward, only 1 or 2 points changed from the material discussed here in forum. ================== Details of TS: TS1: i- sw2 interface connected to host was in wrong VLAN. ii- int vlan 100 was not advertised in OSPF. TS2: i- R17 was configured with chap callout. ii- telnet not allowed in line vty. iii- ppp ipcp was missing. TS3: i- max-lsa was configured either on R3 or on R5 (sorry i forgot the device). ii- I also removed passive interface but from which device i didn't remember (really sorry for this) TS4: i- Delay 1000 command on R13. ii- passive interface on R12 towards R14. No ACL, prefix-list or offset-list was there to deny any prefix or change the metric. TS5: out of 4 traces required, only 2 were taking wrong path, i- For internet prefix 194.x.x.x, I made changes on R21 prefix-list to influence the LP towards R3-R5. ii- For 134.x.x.x prefix MED is changed on R4 to have both routes installed in R12 routing table. TS6: i- Changed next-hop on R25 to the correct one. ii- IPv6 Network advertisement on Internet router. TS7: i- nhrp authentication wrong on R18. ii- ip map multicast wrongly configured on R19. iii- WAN interface redistributed on R15. TS8: i- no default route originated on R7. ii- ip nat outside missing. iii- ospf wrongly redistributed on R8 & R7 as for from Hub to spoke traffic it was making R8 primary. iv- path was wrongly preferred between R4-R6. TS9: i- crypto pre-share key was wrong on R24. ii- no default route on R7 TS10: i- "ip nat outside source ..." command on R23... changed to "ip nat inside source..." ii- transport input telnet was missing on NAS router. Details of Diag: Tkt1: Port security issue. Interface was down-down. Tkt2: R15 .. route-map missing on redistribute connected in EIGRP Tkt3: i. Asymmetric routing with Unicast RPF. ii- took some time to arrange the points in right order (please read carefully while doing the same) Configuration Section: MST strongest Authentication in EIGRP As 45678 BGP in vrf to build the tunnel, so need to use command "tunnel vrf vrf-name" on tunnel interfaces ================== would like to give one suggestion to all .. instead of cramming the solution and faults try to understand the flow of traffic or prefixes in Config and TS topology, it will really give you confidence while appearing for exam. All the best to everyone and i would also like to wish myself for my next certification
