  2. Hi, I am not sure how to set up JNCIE labs on a desktop PC. Are there any simulators like GNS for cisco. Or are there any IOUs that we could mount using VMs. How to build and solve the inetzero workbooks on desktop PC without using their rack rentals. Please guide me as I am fairly new to this. Thanks dnb1990

  4. Ok playing aroung with L3VPN tonight... Standard CE - PE - P - RR setup etc... CE connected to PE via EBGP PE connected to RR via IBGP So I receive the routes i've sent from the CE on the RR but the routes are hidden The obvious reason is that the next hop is unreachable.... this is the case... but the next hop is actually the loopback of the PE. First strange observation... normally next-hop self shouldn't / doesn't happen automatically from EBGP to IBGP... (maybe L3VPN is a special case)... Second... all my SP related routers have access to all the loopbacks... so the route reflector has a valid route to the loopback via IS-IS in inet.0 So why isn't it using it then? Searched the Internet. happens to be that a lot of people broke their head on this... this is what they came up with... it works... but i really want to understand WHY this is... in my understanding, bgp looks both into inet.3 and inet.0, the RR doesn't need to find anything in inet.3 since it doesn't have LSP's... routing-options { rib inet.3 { static { route 0.0.0.0/0 discard; } } } Cheers, J.
