    Passed RHCE EXAM!

Hey Everyone, I recently passed the RHCE (EX300) exam. The results of your EX300 Exam are reported below. Exam Domain Number: 7 Passing score for the exam: 210 Your score: 270 Result: PASS Congratulations -- you have earned the EX300 Certificate. However, my target was to get 300. But unfortunately my machine had some problem with the ethernet2 interface . Thus I couldn't complete the network teaming question. Also I think I messed up the script . Otherwise everything's fine. One thing I learned is, even if you're expert in something. Sometime fate doesn't support you like you want it to. Network teaming was one of the most easiest question, and I couldn't complete that. Anyway, I am really happy that I got the certificate. My goal is to achieve RHCA. Next step...... RH413 (Red Hat Server Hardening). Regards
  3. Hello Everyone , i am reading micheal jangs book for preparing rhcsa and I came across this lab question .I tried doing it with what i read and i couldnt go through .Can any one guide me step by step on how to achieve this task.. here gamma.example.net and whitehat.example.net both are virtual hosts on a physical host system kauai.example.net ... The os i am using is centos 7... PLease guide step by step on how to achieve ... will be thankful In this lab, you install and set up a default configuration HTTP server on the gamma.example.net system. You take the install.log file from the / root directory, and copy it to a newly created /var/www/html/rpmlist directory. Rename that file gamma-install.log. If successful, you'll be able to access the file from remote systems. Log into the whitehat.example.net system, and download the gamma-install.log file with a web browser; use the IP address of gamma.example.net here: [Hidden Content].

  5. Hi All, If I take RHCE exam within this month, will it be using RHEL7 or RHEL6? I need you advise on this, pretty please? Thank you.
  6. Ok... guys, here is a little bit of a problem. A friend of mine faced this issue in the RHCSA (EX-200) exam: In this question: Create a Logical Volume with the name “database” by using 25 extends. From the group “datastore” of 50extends.Consider PE size as 8mb. Format the LVM partition with vfat file system. And mount under /datadb. Well, when trying to format with vfat it is throwing this error: " unable to get drive geometry, using default 255/63 " Redhat.com tells only this much: [Hidden Content] However if we are not formatting an LVM partition, then that same partition is successfully assigned the vfat filesystem with mkfs.vfat. If anyone can help it will be good.

  12. Guys, There is a little update on the exam front. Yesterday a friend of mine took the exam and these are the changes he reported. 1) Enabel kernel parameter kernstack by setting its value to 1. and is should reflect to /proc/cmdline after reboot. Well, everyone knows this. The reason for telling this one is because for some time they have been asking to enable "sysvctl". 2) Enable the ip forwarding and disable ping request coming to your system. Note one thing here: they have asked you to disable incoming ping request. So guys just be a little careful if you are using iptables to block icmp. Thanks & Bye

    RHCE GUI

Does nanyone know if the GUI is available in the RHCE exam? Can we do systemctl isolate graphical.target or is it not even installed? Thank you.
  16. I received an announcement mail from Red Hat saying that: I passed RH202 in 2011 Feb, and gotten RHCT 5 (and I was told that for our case which is near the end of RHEL 5, we were granted RHCA 6 as well). I am preparing to go further, RHCE now. I would like to know, am I eligible for RHCE 6 direct? Is this new announcement helpful to me? If I go for RHCE 7, I will need to take both RHCSA 7 and RHCE 7 exams both. This, I understand. Thanks.
