Hi Friends Here I'm answering your calls/requests to start a "CCIE DC Lab discussion thread" that will help people in passing the Lab...here you have it, but before a begin, there are couple of advice I would like to handout at this very beginning. 1. This thread is not set up so you can cram exam questions and "just" PASS without understanding the underlying tech. If you decided to just cram the dump, you are actually not doing either yourself or the world any good. And, you will find it difficult many time to defend the certificate as you know nothing or little per the tech. I copied below from Cisco site, please read it carefully: "CCIE Data Center IT practitioners who are Cisco CCIE certified are uniquely qualified for key roles in advanced data center environments, with expertise in the broad range of technologies and industry-best practices sought after in technical leadership roles. " As you can see, cramming dumb won't grant you that "Broad range of technologies and industry-best practices". 2. We are here to learn from each other, rob minds, deliberate on confusing and complex topics. Judged and misjudged each other . So, we all have to behaves maturely, and not as "babies". Not throwing insults at each other. Respect each others' views, and politely tell others why you think their views isn't the best. Apart from the high level of technical skill you possessed as CCIE holder, people also believe you are very responsible and know how to act in difficult/annoying situations. So, begin to learn it now if you haven't already as it's very key to this journey you're beginning if you haven't pass any CCIE lab before. And if you had, continue with that highly needed soft skill. 3. Please don't withhold any good material(s) you have and believe will be useful for this forum. Also, we should be prepared to do group buy in case we are unable to find some needed materials. Some guys (part of our friends here) can not genuinely afford buying those expensive lab dumb, quality teaching videos and relevant books single-handedly, though it's nothing to some, this is where group buy comes handy, once it's needed and we failed to get it from some of us here. Note: sharing of written exam materials (dumb/books) are welcome as well, but ONLY lab discussions here please. 4. Be kind enough to share your experience in the lab with others, either you pass or NOT. You not passing the lab doesn't mean you are not smart and it's not a shame, so feel free to share your experience and prepare for next attempt...only very few passed it in first attempt. 5. If "Skype group" discussions is what you are looking for, you are in the VERY WRONG place. Also, please be mature enough not to initiate starting it in this forum as your post will be deleted immediately and you can be "BANNED" from Certcollection. Please take special note on this. This space is reserved for shared written materials: Having stated those few advice and one warning, let's go to the main business. If the track you are sorting after/pursuing isn't DC, then this isn't the right place for you. In lab 2 in UCS section we have Questions related to create lan connectivity and san connectivity policy, during creation of lab connectivity policy it states to set the adapter policy to VMWARE what is the significance of using adapter policy set to vmware, and during creation of san connectivity policy it does not state changing the adapter policy to VMWARE. My concern is what is the purpose of using adapter policy VMWARE, suppose it doesnt states in the lab exam specifically to use the adapter policy to vmware, what to do in that scenario shall we assign vmware or not. Update please.
  7. In lab 2 the question only states about creating WWXN pool and that pool is only used during WWNN association and WWPN association to a vHBA. My concern is what is the difference between WWXN, WWPN and WWNN Pool. Secondly, during creation of vHBA associate of WWPN we have two option derived and a pool, in some WB i have seen they select the option derived, what is the use of derived option instead of actual pool can some please explain about derived?

  12. What should be the MTU size for the links going towards UCS fabric Interconnect (Suppose it is not mentioned in the lab to configure MTU), can we leave the MTU to be default of 1500 as it is not mentioned in the question, or do we have to change ? Please update.
  13. Do we need to allow vlan 1 on any links going towards either C Server or UCS. Some solution allowed vlan 1 along with other vlans but in some solution only specific vlans are allowed no vlan 1 is allowed? What you guys recommend which is better practise to allow or not to allow vlan 1 Trunk links going towards server.

I was performing a lab based on lab 2 on OTV, everything was working well end to end, otv adjacency was up, otv was up, but I was unable to ping Vlan 4001 and Vlan 4002 from DC1-N7K3 and DC1-N7K4 vice versa, what could be the issue that OTV is up, but no communication between Vlan 4001 and Vlan 4002?

Dear let start verifying the CCIE dc solution with all the team members and those who are going in the lab, * vlan 4001 & 4002 -> we can not create this vlan because this vlan are default and used by the system. to use this command remove it from the default by using the creating other vlans as a system vlan by using the command system vlan 2000 reserve AM i right. * router eigrp 1 autonomous-system 1 ----- No need this command it will use only when the router eigrp <process> use different instance line router eigrp cciedc. * dual-active exclude interface-vlan only need in secondary vpc.

  23. Hi, I am able to boot from SAN in LAB 3, ESXI showing up but VEM is not registered in nexus1000v, only VSM module no VEM module, Can someone please update did anyone faced the same issue, how to correct it.
