    VCP 510 Exam?

hey guys, has anyone written & passed VCP 510 till now? Are there any practice exams / dumps / whatever for it?
  2. hi there Lot of vmware customer doesn t know that their license include some additianal components like vshield, storage appliance... in the neterprise edition. And this post is about the appliance. You can , using it share your local storage between different host ( limit is 3 by appliance ) and the system is quite good: You use 2 vswitches one front end and one backend for internal and external connexions, every datastore has its owns volume replica locally and you can use clustered storage. You will need at least 2 hosts, and when deploying the appliance , you ll have 2 parts, it s for each host. then the config is simple, just configuring the network, ip ...... A thing that Vmware didn t say at first , is that you won t be able to use it when you ve deployed vcenter server appliance, because the storage manager central, point for the storage appliance, has to be installed on the same machine vcenter server is in , so a window machine i will upoload a video showing you how it works very soon Cheers

  4. Hey guys, This topic has been around for a while, lot´s of questions, and ever patient UD answers every time (rm -f /opt/ovf/.configured). To help the ESXi beginners, and save UD from repeating the same always, basically, I created a step by step manual with screenshots of how to deploy the UDs web-iou on your ESXi, and how to [if needed] configure the Static IP address. My procedure is slightly different. For starters, for VM rookies: VMware vSphere is the name of the product. VMware is the company name, vSphere is a product line name and ESXi 5 is a hypervisor version. If you don’t know what the Hypervisor is, here’s a god definition: “A Hypervisor, also called a virtual machine manager, is a program that allows multiple operating systems to share a single hardware host. Each operating system appears to have the host's processor, memory, and other resources all to itself. However, the hypervisor is actually controlling the host processor and resources, allocating what is needed to each operating system and making sure that the guest operating systems (called virtual machines) cannot disrupt each other.” Hope this helps [hide][Hidden Content]] PS If you don´t have MEGA account, I strongly advise you to create one, my 4shared is loaded, not even a 500KB file fits any more, and Mega offers much more space.
  5. Since everything is cloud, cloud, cloud... it made me wonder. How would you define Cloud when used with the context of Vritualization? looking forward to the replies!

  8. Hello Folks, I am planning to setup home Vsphere lab with 2 esxi1hosts and 1 vcenter through which I can simulate most of the HA and FT features. As per David Davis he managed to setup lab on Samsung I7 laptop but he didnt specified the model number or detailed specs with which I can purchase it in market. I'm sure many of you would have configured lab on laptop, please help me with the make and model of the laptop which has support to 64bit nested VM's and capable of handling the load.

  10. Hey guys, i wanted to share a really great resource I have been using to learn a lot of my stuff. I have to honestly say many times they show me something I don't know. Often times they will cover a new best practice that others are doing that is usually not something documented. I am not sure if this qualifies as a share because honestly its completely free and is more related to information sharing by people volunteering. Check it out when you can! Do not post useless "thank you" post. If you want to see the content of the hidden links Please use the "Thanks" button as shown in the announcements [Hidden Content] Posting an answer will NOT reveal the hidden content. All following useless "thank you" will be removed. [hide][Hidden Content]] you can also go back and learn as well.
  11. I wanted to post some sources since I have also been working on how to automate task in vSphere environments. It's really quite simple though at first it may seem daunting. vCenter orchestrator is a very cool way to fully automate your environments. From VM deployment, Host automation of configurations, vCloud director automation, and more. (vCenter required) To get start you will need to download and install the vCenter Orchestrator. You can get the new appliance from here: [Hidden Content]== I could you guide you through the installation but why invent the wheel if someone already has done it? You can see an install here: [Hidden Content] This will pretty much get you started on your journey to FREE automate but obviously you will need a few other plug-ins... What are plug-in? Well these are the magic working of vCenter Orchestrator they are that wheel that you don't want to keep reinventing.... shortcuts for you to get quickly on the road of automation.. You can find these here: [Hidden Content] Anyways happy automation! Automation tips: [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
